Shellac Sanding Sealer is a sealer for new and stained timbers (including MDF) which is applied prior to over-coating with other finishes such as waxes, french polishes etc. It is formulated using natural shellac and industrial methylated spirits. It is suitable for interior use only. Shake well before use. In cold weather or after prolonged storage it may also be necessary to stir the product. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease and dust. Apply Shellac Sanding Sealer with a brush or cloth. Apply up to 5 coats, allowing to dry thoroughly between applications. After the first coat, the surface of the wood may appear roughened – lightly rub down with the fine wire wool. The final coat can be applied using a mioxture of 50/50 Methylated Spirits and Shellac Sanding Sealer. Clean all brushes etc with Methylated Spirits.
